Case Update: Yonkers Jane Doe Identified

December 12, 2021: More information has been released regarding the work that went into identifying Meresa Hammonds as the Yonkers Jane Doe. The identification was made through the use of genetic genealogy. Following its use in closing other unsolved crimes, investigators contacted the FBI and had their Jane Doe’s DNA put into private genealogy websites.
