April 8, 2021:
The Tuskegee Police Department has confirmed that remains found are those of Marquez Duncan Jr., who went missing in late February 2021. The 22-year-old was last seen by his roommate around midnight on the night he went missing.
According to Police Chief Lloyd Jenkins, the remains were located at a property on Alabama Avenue on April 1, 2021. The body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy. While a cause of death has not been publicly released, the Police Chief noted that it appeared Marquez’s body had been at the location for several weeks prior to being found.
The case has since moved from a missing persons investigation to an active homicide case. The Tuskegee Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact them at 334-727-0200. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Central Alabama Crime Stoppers at 334-215-7867.
