MURDERS:
In the early hours of August 27, 1966, Doreen Hardy and Jane Bernard were seen getting into a dark-coloured 1959-to-1963 Pontiac or Oldsmobile in Port Arthur (now Thunder Bay), Ontario, Canada. The vehicle, seen on Cumberland Street, near the New Main Café, was operated by an unidentified White male, who looked to be between 20 and 24 years of age. He had a stocky build, light brown hair and glasses.
Doreen’s body was found the next day in McGregor Township (now Shuniah Township), near Sandy Beach, Ontario. Jane was located deceased several days later, approximately 260 yards from where Doreen was found. Both women had been strangled to death.
