It should be noted that the majority of what’s known about the decedent comes from files turned over by the Charleston County Coroner’s Office upon the then-medical examiner’s retirement in 1992. The original case file put together by the local authorities was “purged”.
DISCOVERY:
The exact date when the decedent’s remains were discovered is unknown, due to the lack of records. It’s believed she was found on or prior to July 12, 1973, in Charleston County, South Carolina.
AUTOPSY:
It’s impossible to estimate how long Jane Doe was deceased prior to her remains being found, as their original condition is unknown. Despite this, it’s theorized she died of a suspected homicide.
DETAILS:
Jane Doe is described as a White female between the ages of 14 and 20. She stood from 4’8″ to 5’0″ and had received dental care at some point in her life, as restorations were observed on her teeth.
Given the lack of information available, it’s impossible to know her eye and hair colour. Her weight while alive is also a mystery, indicating the remains were likely skeletal when discovered.
