The Gwinnett County Police Department has announced they’ve successfully uncovered the identity of the Gwinnett County Jane Doe, whose body was found in a suitcase along I-985 on July 26, 2016. A construction worker came across the skeletal remains of a female who remained unidentified until this year.

Jane Doe has been identified as Jessica Ashley Manchini, a Pennsylvania native living in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The 29-year-old had been reported missing in December 2014, after her mother hadn’t heard from her in a while.

Police were able to identify Jessica after re-testing a tag from the suitcase her remains were found in. The test revealed a partial name and address in faded blue ink, which was no longer visible to the human eye. Dental and medical records were used to confirm the identity.

Jessica’s cause of death currently remains unknown.

Those with information regarding Jessica Manchini’s disappearance and death are being asked to contact the Gwinnett County Police Department at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 407-577-8477. Investigators are currently offering a cash reward for any information leading to an arrest.
